Step into the heart of Amish Country and experience life the way the Amish live - through learning, doing, and connecting. This journey invites you to look beyond the surface and truly understand a way of life that is seldom understood.
Together, we’ll explore Lancaster’s rolling countryside not as tourists, but as guests welcomed into the rhythm of Amish daily life. From sharing a meal in an Amish home to learning traditional skills side-by-side with Amish families, this trip opens doors to experiences few visitors ever have.
We’ll ride through the farmlands in a horse-drawn Amish buggy, learn how the buggy horses are harnessed and cared for, and even step into the kitchen to make butter from fresh cream and bake bread on an Amish farm. You’ll discover the warmth and wisdom of the Amish and come away with a deeper appreciation for their simple yet profound way of living.
Along the way, we’ll take time to understand the beliefs and history that shape Amish life and engage in meaningful conversations that go beyond the myths and misconceptions. Come ready to roll up your sleeves, ask questions, and see the world through the lens of simplicity and hard work.
Learning Amish
Featuring
Amish Healthcare
Journey beyond the horse-and-buggy ride and into the heart of Amish-community care. Led by Jessica, who brings both her Amish heritage and professional experience as a CRNP, this special tour offers a sincere conversation about how Amish and Mennonite families approach health, wellness, community-support, aging and faith. You’ll visit a local health-store used by Amish families, ask thoughtful questions about caregiving and tradition, and gain a meaningful glimpse into how neighborly care intertwine in everyday life.
Autumn Farmhouse Tour
Experience the beauty of Amish Country in harvest season with a hands-on visit to an Amish farm. During this special autumn tour, you’ll step inside a working Amish farmhouse to help churn butter, press fresh apple cider, and bake homemade bread alongside the farm family. Wander through the barns, feed the animals, and enjoy the warmth of authentic Amish hospitality.
Amish Mud Sale
One of the most anticipated community events is an Amish Mud Sale. These lively auctions support the local volunteer fire department and brings together Amish and English neighbors for a day full of fellowship and tradition. Request to join me on this trip!
A 25% non-refundable deposit per person is required for booking. Before completing your application, be sure you read and understand our Cancellation Policy, Terms & Conditions, and Rules of Etiquette.
Each of my escorted trips is kept intentionally small, no more than 10 travelers, to create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable and connected. Because space is limited (both in the van and for luggage), I ask each traveler to complete a short trip application. This helps ensure the group is a great fit for shared experiences, meaningful conversations, and lasting friendships.
If not accepted, it is not a rejection! It’s simply a way to share opportunities more equally and make space for others to experience the joy of traveling with our group.
Whether you’re brand new, joining a bit later than the others, or one of our beloved regulars, you are always invited and valued. Thank you for your understanding and support.
